Currently, PA does not accept out-of-state medical marijuana cards and does not have a reciprocity program. While other states may accept PA cards, PA dispensaries are only permitted to serve patients with PA medical marijuana cards. To qualify for medical marijuana in PA, you must be a resident of this state, and you must have a PA Medical Marijuana ID card to purchase from a PA dispensary.
Only approved medical marijuana patients (and their approved caregivers) can purchase medical marijuana in Pennsylvania, as recreational cannabis is not legal. The amount of marijuana a medical marijuana patient or caregiver is permitted to purchase had been a one-month’s supply, though recently the Governor signed a law increasing the amount to a three-month supply.
